Men and Eating Disorders Workshop
Join Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwuba, Dr. Tahani Dahir, and other experts for a powerful workshop exploring eating disorders in boys and men.
We will:
- focus on male eating disorders, a topic often overlooked and under-discussed.
- explore how social environments - such as schools, gyms, workplaces and within families - promote body ideals
- look at early signs of eating disorders in boys and men, often misread as signs of strength rather than illness.
- highlight stigma and gendered expectations that prevent men from recognising symptoms or seeking help.
- address structural barriers, including race, gender, sexuality, and economic pressures, that shape access to care.
- challenge dominant narratives around who is seen as needing or deserving of treatment.
With insights from both clinicians and those with lived experience, this workshop will challenge assumptions and deepen our understanding of male eating disorders within the wider systems that shape health and inequality.
The workshop content will also be available to ticket holders for up to a month after it has ended. Visit our workshop and event FAQs for further details.
