After studying Neuropsychology at the Utrecht University, Netherlands, I finished my PhD within the field of “Developmental neuropsychology” at the Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands).
After successfully defending my thesis, I moved back to Germany and started working as a clinical psychologist at the department of child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy of the “Uniklinik RWTH Aachen”. Within the next years I finished my training as a child and adolescent psychotherapist while clinically working with children and adolescents in different treatment phases (hospital treatment, day-care, home treatment, outpatient setting). During these years I specifically focused on the treatment of children and adolescents suffering from eating disorders. Currently, next to my clinical work, I am working as the project coordinator of a multisite, multiprofessional randomized controlled trial to evaluate the new home treatment in adolescents with anorexia nervosa and to compare it to treatment as usual.
