Dr Thomas Spencer is Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Department of Psychosis Studies, and Education Lead for the School of Academic Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. He also works as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the OASIS service, a team working with young people at risk of developing psychosis at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. His research explores how psychotic symptoms may be related to changes in basic cognitive processes such as learning, memory and reward processing. He is also interested in thought disorder and novel treatments for those at risk of developing psychosis, and is involved in several therapeutic trials.
