Thomas was diagnosed with anorexia when he was 21, after quite a sudden onset during university. Unable to properly engage with outpatient treatment, Thomas was admitted to an inpatient eating disorder ward where he stayed for 10 months receiving treatment. After inpatient treatment, Thomas received support in the community before being able to return to university to complete his course. Thomas now works for an environmental charity and is an ambassador for Beat, using his experience to particularly highlight the issue of eating disorders in men and the LGBTQI+ community.
