Jaz Kaur

I am Jaz- I struggled with my anorexia since I was around the age of 13.

When I was unknowingly in the depths of my illness I gave up and called 111 who sent me to my GP and then they further referred me to CAMHS . I have been through both impatient setting and CAMHS outpatient and received equally wonderful experiences and many less lovely ones . However I have been recovered for over a year now and it’s fantastic . With my previous eating disorder , I also have Aspergers syndrome – which influenced my care towards the end of me leaving outpatients – and I think being much younger and not diagnosed really influenced how I approached my care . Thankfully life has looked up for me – I am doing a masters in nursing at the university of Leicester – I get to volunteer – I am a guinea pig mom !
